First project at uni…
New years resolution: keep a weekly blog.
So here is the first of my blogs I intend to write. I’m currently finishing off all my projects for my uni course.
On Thursday my friend Vikki came down to Winchester for the day to model my garment and accessory for me. The photo shoot was the first I have done and using the studio was amazing. By simply having the equipment I was able to produce some fantastic photos that I didn’t feel even needed editing.
For my accessory I focused on Sin City as a movie and made a waist corset. It is made from a fake leather and white lace with chains hanging down sides and a simple black lining.
For my dress the project was Positive and Negative so I experimented with female images and how women aspire to become slim and how fashion can be used to create false images. This lead to me considering the skeleton as the ultimate slim as you cannot get any thiner. I then messed around with this idea and create a dress based upon it using black and white jersey showing black as negative space and white as teh positive suggested space.
